Research in Australia to develop a scoring system and evaluate the construct validity of a critical appraisal tool (CAT) developed from a number of other CATs, general research methods theory and reporting guidelines. Standards for educational and psychological testing were used to evaluate construct validity and internal structure and relations to other variables were analysed against 5 alternative CATs. 32 references.
