Investigating the place and role of PhD research supervisors
Research supervisors can play a crucial role in the effective imparting of relevant skills, knowledge and understanding. In reality, they often are not able, well equipped or even predisposed to play such a role. The Research Information Network recently issued results from a study they commissioned in the first half of 2011 on the role of research supervisors in information literacy.
